Postpartum Depression:

Sad mood, loss of interest in usually enjoyable things, and little interest in or attachment to infant, in first year after childbirth.


Postpartum OCD and Perinatal OCD:

OCD in these periods, characterized at times by intrusive thoughts of harming the baby, leading to fears of being alone with the baby, bathing the baby, or changing its diaper, excessive fears of contaminating the baby, fears of SIDS leading to frequent checking of baby, or feelings of disgust triggered, e.g., by changing diaper.
